I completed my MA degree at the University of Nottingham and then I chose to study at University of York because its Centre for Women’s Study stood out above the rest. I had offers from other universities, but the University of York has a great reputation internationally, and had the specific course I wanted to do.
I have been going through a great phase of learning at the Centre for Women’s Studies at York. Studying at the University of York brought an added value to my personal life. I like the hands-on approach of the modules because it has taken my learning beyond theory. I have learnt to apply my knowledge through experiences like giving presentations, working in teams, and active involvement in our tutorials. The modules are very interesting and the small size of the classes allowed the use of better learning methods, which also implied a better atmosphere. The professors are there to communicate their knowledge and their know-how, thereby enabled me to understand what research is. Thanks to the quality of the courses and the professors, I have been able to carry on PhD/research on such a sensitive topic independently. I feel better prepared to get into the workforce because of it. However, you need to keep in mind that the professors are professionals.
The University of York has been named the top international university in the UK by thousands of international students and graduates using HotcoursesAbroad.com and its dozen local language sites.
